This concept is also used for riser and lift shafts or any area that spans many floors. I posted some time ago about how Scope boxes can place a stairwell view extent consistently on a sheet across many floors. They are useful for all disciplines as a means of recalling a precise view area for different sheets and floors. Scope boxes have been in Revit for many years, and they are a tool that defines a three-dimensional area that can be used to set the extents of Datum Elements and View limits. In terms of controlling display extents withins view I often mention the much-underused function of Scope Boxes. Controlling how elements display in Revit views is a common question I receive from users.
